Sounds stupid but it’s true.
I don’t know about you but I find myself constantly dragging and looking for a sugar or caffeine boost. I know this isn’t the best way to go so I decided to get some expert advice. So pulled up Youtube and typed “How to have more energy?” (You can literally learn anything now of days from YouTube).
Here is the advice from one video:
- Get 9 hours of sleep a night
- Eat more fruits and vegetables
- Drink lots of water (you know you are drinking enough when you have to go to the bathroom at least 8-10 times a day)
That was it.
How many times in life do we find ourselves with a problem but looking for some “Secret bullet” or “Magical” way to skate by when the answer is always right in front of our faces? Instead of dealing with reality, we want to do things our way and expect better results.
“For things to change, you have to change. For things to get better, you have to get better”
There isn’t a shortcut to success. Success can be found by doing simple disciplines consistently instead of simple consistent errors in judgment. Many people are surprised when they don’t have energy when they only get 5 hours of sleep a night, eat fast food every day and chase it down with a large “diet” soda (speaking in the mirror right now).
The sad part is that is not only apparent in a diet but also carries over to other areas of life. Some are surprised they don’t have any friends when they are constantly negative, don’t go to social events and are stand-offish when people approach them. Others are surprised that they are broke when they spend more than they earn, don’t add additional income streams and pay the highest tax rate.
The key to your success in business and personal life is right in front of your face. There aren’t any loopholes or magic bullets. Open your mind to the possibilities of a better life and listen to those who have what you want and then just do what they say without any excuses.
Looks like I am going to bed early tonight!

David – I really got a lot from this article. Keep it simple. Don't always look for complex solutions when an easy, effective solution is readily available.
Exactly Criss – the answer is always right under your nose.
